Deep Tissue Massage

This is meant you help you with chronic aches and pains. Some of the more common conditions deep tissue addresses are:

  • Carpal tunnel syndrome
  • Headaches
  • Muscle spasms
  • Back pain
  • Respiratory conditions
  • Pre- and post-natal pregnancy pain
  • Sports injuries

During this your treatment, your therapist will apply more pressure in order to reach below connective tissues. Many people will feel stiff or sore for the next day or two as a result. If you find you’re in pain during treatment, you can let your therapist know so they can ensure what you’re experiencing will have long-term positive benefits.

Relaxation / Swedish Massage

When you think of spa massage, you probably think of something very relaxing and calming. What you’re thinking of is the relaxation massage, which is also often known as a Swedish massage. Unlike the previous two types of therapies, this treatment doesn’t work to relieve old injuries or help with chronic pain. Instead, you can expect a much lighter touch that works to relieve your everyday stress and tension. Afterward you’ll feel lighter, tension-free, and have an overall feeling of comfort and contentment.

Acupuncture

Acupuncture is believed to help relieve pain and treat diseases by restoring the normal flow of energy through the body.

Couples Massage

If you and your loved one are looking for a relaxing, rejuvenating way to spend the day together, why not book a couples massage? Rather than working out specific injuries or ailments, we focus on giving you both a relaxing experience that leaves you without any tension. These treatments aren’t just limited to you and your significant other, either. You can also book an appointment with your mother, friend, sister, or anyone you want to treat for a special occasion. Help your loved one escape and relax after the stresses of everyday life.

Sports Massage

Athletes in any sport know that they’ll face muscle soreness, stiffness, and injuries in their careers. Fortunately, the registered therapists at Therapeutic Body Concepts can help alleviate these aches and pains. Our sports massages use specific techniques in order to help target areas of concern in athletes. They can help you:

  • Improve performance
  • Prevent injuries
  • Promote healing

Before you begin, make sure to discuss your specific goals with your therapist so they can help you achieve your athletic goals.

Hot Stone Massage

People who are especially tense and need to relax may want to experience hot stones. The use of stones is intended to promote deep relaxation and help your therapist reach more deeply into your tissues. Other benefits include:

  • Increased circulation
  • Pain relief from chronic conditions
  • Reduced stress

During this treatment, you’ll have heated, flat stones placed along your body. Most often, they’ll be placed along your back, but they can also be used along your stomach, chest, face, palms, or feet. The stones may also be held by your therapist and used as an active part of the massage.

Thai

Thai massage is an ancient healing system sometimes described as passive yoga. Don’t worry if you aren’t familiar with yoga; you don’t need any yoga experience to enjoy this therapy. It’s essentially a form of passive stretching. Your therapist will move and stretch your body to help stimulate energy lines, promoting healing and balance, increasing flexibility, and relieving stiffness.

RAPID

RAPID NeuroFascial Reset (N.R.F.) is a newer movement based therapeutic technique that focuses on the central nervous systems in order to release tension and constraint within muscles, tendons, ligaments, fascia and nerves.

Pregnancy

Expectant moms experience unique physical and emotional changes that occur as a result of increased weight, shifting posture, and adjusting hormone levels.

Reflexology

Reflexology is an ancient Chinese technique that uses pressure-point massage on the feet to restore the flow of energy throughout the entire body.

Cupping

Cupping is an ancient Chinese form of massage therapy where glass, plastic, or bamboo cups are used to create suction on the skin’s surface. This mobilizes blood flow and allows for a deeper release during the massage.

Jade Stone Massage

Jade stone is a semi-precious stone that is valued most in China. It is ranked above all types of rare gemstones and metals by the Chinese.

There are two types of Jade – Nephrite and Jadeite. Jadeite is the gemstone used in jewelry and Nephrite is the type of Jade used in massage.

Jade has been known to relax the nervous system, and aid in the removal of toxins. Because of this, it is used in various different cultures over thousands of years including the Egyptians and Mayans.

Myofascial Release

“Myo-” means muscle and “fascial” is “a band or sheet of connective tissue, primarily collagen, beneath the skin that attaches, stabilizes, encloses, and separates muscles and other internal organs.” Fascia connects, supports and protects each of your muscles and internal structures. This connective tissue is densely woven around your entire body to connect everything from your head to your toes. Myofascial Release is a treatment to release the tension and stress on your Myofascial tissues.

Lymphatic Drainage

The LDT detects the rhythm, direction, and quality of the lymph then using gentle techniques guides the fluid to the best possible pathway for drainage. An effective treatment after injury or illness.

Tui Na Chinese Massage

Tuina works on the energy channels and points, using the same principles as acupuncture except that the hands and fingers are used instead of needles

Kinesiology Taping

In the past decade Kinesiology Taping has become more prevalent. The original elastic adhesive tape, now known as Kinesio Tape (KT), was developed by Dr. Kenzo Kase in 1979. The tape itself is hypoallergenic, latex-free, and can be worn for days at a time. Kinesio Taping became more popular during the 2008 Summer Olympics. It was donated to over 58 countries and was worn by very well-known athletes.

Reiki
