My journey to becoming the owner of Therapeutic Body Concepts began after graduating from MacEwan University in 2010 with a 2200-hour Massage Therapy diploma. Throughout my career, I’ve worked at spas and various massage therapy clinics that have allowed me to grow as an individual and fine tune my skills as an RMT. Massage Therapy was the career path that I wanted to take, but I always had this feeling of wanting more! I knew I could take on more and be more. I ventured off on my own in 2013 and rented a small commercial space in downtown Edmonton. Here I built my little practice and got a taste for business ownership. This step was paramount for me to become a business owner. I wanted to be ready for any opportunities that came my way!
Therapeutic Body Concepts was a thriving clinic on the West End of Edmonton and was founded in 1998 by its original, amazing owner Leanne Power. The business was listed for sale in 2013. I noticed the advertisement while travelling in Hawaii and I felt immediately drawn to it. I had to find out more! I emailed the listing and a reply soon followed. I still remember the day I met Leanne for the first time and first stepped foot in the clinic. It felt right and I had this feeling of being at home. Leanne had built something truly beautiful and all of her hard work truly showed. It was perfect! After further conversations, meetings and a sharp learning curve for myself, I became the new owner of Therapeutic Body Concepts in January of 2014.
