Genevieve Boyer graduated from the Acupuncture Program at MacEwan University in 2006. Since then she has completed additional training in fertility enhancement, pregnancy support, pediatric treatment (both acupuncture and needle-free techniques), pain management, and trauma-informed care, among others. Her treatments are informed by Classical Chinese Medicine theories, Chinese and Japanese approaches to treatment, and a solid understanding of western physiology and anatomy. Genevieve is registered with the College of Acupuncturists of Alberta and is also a Fellow of the American Board of Oriental Reproductive Medicine (ABORM). Over the years, she has shared her expertise with students as a part-time clinical supervisor at the MacEwan University Acupuncture Teaching Clinic.

Early in her career, Genevieve was so impressed with the effects of craniosacral therapy on her own health that she decided to add it to her toolbox of treatment modalities, along with acupuncture, cupping, guasha, and Reiki. She trained in Upledger Craniosacral Therapy light-touch techniques to release restrictions in the fascia (the connective tissue of the body) and the craniosacral system specifically, which envelops the brain and spinal cord. Genevieve has completed specialized prenatal and pediatric training to work safely with pregnant women and children. She finds craniosacral therapy particularly helpful for working with muscular and joint pain, anxiety, depression, digestive and sleep disorders (including colic in babies), and in healing any kind of physical or emotional trauma. Genevieve provides craniosacral therapy in combination with acupuncture treatment or on its own.

Genevieve regularly works with people of all ages to help with a wide range of health concerns. She also offers diet and lifestyle advice to enhance the effectiveness and sustainability of treatments when appropriate. Some conditions Genevieve has extensive experience treating include but are not limited to:

  • Pain management
  • Women’s reproductive health (including menstrual disorders and fertility)
  • Men’s reproductive health
  • Pregnancy health (including morning sickness, labor preparation, and labor induction)
  • Children’s health (including colic, constipation, tongue tie, sleep issues, and much more)
  • Mental health (anxiety, depression, PTSD)
